The Story Behind the Leader
A Life Committed to Stamford
Nicola Tarzia isn’t just running for mayor — Born and raised right here in Stamford, he’s lived in and knows every corner of the city. Nicola graduated from Stamford High and Wright Technical School. He went on to found multiple successful companies in construction, mechanical contracting, and real estate development. For over 30 years, he’s been a job creator, educator, mentor, and voice for smart, balanced leadership.
Built From the Ground Up
As President and CEO of the Tarzia Group, Nicola has overseen both residential and commercial developments across Stamford. He holds multiple Connecticut and New York contractor licenses and is certified in green construction through LEED and NAHB programs. His hands-on experience with infrastructure, budgets, and sustainable growth brings a much-needed business perspective to city government.
Public Service That Speaks for Itself
Nicola has never waited to be elected to make an impact. He served as Vice President of Stamford’s Board of Education, taught at Wright Tech Vocational School, and sat on several public boards, including the Sewer & Water Commission. He co-founded the Stamford Public Education Foundation and has spent decades supporting nonprofits like Toys for Tots, Stamford Dollars for Scholars, and youth athletics.
Family. Integrity. Action.
Nicola is not a career politician — he’s a builder, and public servant with deep roots in the community. His values are clear: accountability, transparency, and working across party lines to get things done. Whether advocating for special education funding, streamlining city operations, or expanding educational magnet programs, Nicola brings a multi-dimensional approach grounded in common sense and compassion.
