Everything You Want to Know

Nicola believes Stamford deserves practical leadership — not party politics. With over 30 years of experience in business, education, and public service, he's running to bring fiscal discipline, educational reform, and smarter growth to Stamford. He also brings great networking skills to connect people and drive results.

He’s not a career politician. Nic has built businesses, taught students, served on local boards, and has directly improved lives in Stamford. He’s results-driven, solution-focused, and known for working across party lines to get things done.

Yes. Nicola Tarzia brings a rare combination of business acumen, civic leadership, and deep local knowledge our city. As a CEO, former teacher, and former Vice President of the Board of Education, he understands government budgets, infrastructure, education, and community needs. He’s managed teams, built partnerships, and solved real problems — the exact skills Stamford needs in a mayor.

Nicola is a proud independent Republican, but his priorities are local, not partisan. He believes in balance, transparency, and representing all citizens — regardless of party affiliation.

He supports building a special education center, expanding preschool programs throughout the city, and creating stronger public-private partnerships. He’s also fighting for fairer state funding so Stamford gets the resources it deserves, and wants to work directly with the Board of Education to address the Achievement Gap.

Nic will implement immediate senior tax relief, cut government waste, and audit underperforming departments. He believes in managing the city’s finances like a business — efficiently and with full transparency. He will also create transparent 3 to 5 year spreadsheets to examine budgets from prior years, the current year, and future years across all city wide funding sources.

Nic supports smart, balanced growth, with more affordable housing, not unaccountable development. His plan includes traffic solutions, infrastructure upgrades, and policies that raise property values without burdening taxpayers — especially in the Downtown and South End areas.
